ROSEN Mengzi Coat in Mud-Dyed Ramie
The inspiration for the Mengzi coat came directly from the Southern mountains of China, specifically the Yunnan-Tibetan region, where half of China's ethnic minority tribes still live. The region's preference for contrasting colours and vibrant textures have been translated into a coat named after an esteemed Chinese philosopher. Mengzi upheld the virtue of education, and shared the same Socratic philosophy when it came to acquiring knowledge.
The Mengzi is cut in an oversized cocoon silhouette, with circular and curved seam lines across the body. This iteration is made in a mud-dyed ramie with distinct variations in shades and permanently wrinkled texture.
