ROSEN O-Ren Coat in Grey Wool Angora

The O-Ren looks deceptively simple, but it took us a few rounds of searching for a tailor who would take up the task of making it. We wanted the end result to be a large garment that wraps the wearer like a newborn baby being enveloped in his mother's arms for the first time. Safe and warm before the world gets to them.

The technical details include: a rounded collar hidden under oversized waterfall collar that is large enough to drape across the front, back yoke seam that runs from one end of the sleeve across the back to the other end of the sleeve, giant waist pockets to store passports and sandwiches (we cannot stress how much we value functional pockets), and a batwing silhouette that accommodates varying body shapes and sizes. There is no closure to the coat.

This angora blend fabric that we've picked out is extremely soft and airy, perfect for a crisp chilly day. It's lighter than the sashiko linen and boiled wool O-Ren coat while still keeping the wearer warm. However we do need to insert a disclaimer that due to the nature of the long-haired fabric, it will shed quite heavily when there's friction, so it's best worn over like-coloured garments.

Daniel wears the Planck 2.0 in white cotton twill along with the Oldman trousers in grey wool.
