ROSEN Mengzi Coat in Textured Linen

Sold out

The inspiration for the Mengzi coat came directly from the Southern mountains of China, specifically in the Yunnan-Tibetan region, where half of China's ethnic minority tribes still thrive. Their penchant for contrasting colours and overlapping collars is translated into a coat that I have named after an esteemed Chinese philosopher - one who upheld the virtue of education, and shared the same Socratic philosophy when it comes to acquiring knowledge. That is, one should always question new information one has obtained instead of absorbing it passively.

The Mengzi is cut in an oversized cocoon silhouette, with circular and curved seam lines across the body. The Korean linen has a distinct, almost sculptural weave that gives the coat a subtle three-dimensional texture when seen up close. The coat itself is lined in lightweight linen fabric. Due to the combination of breathable linens and loose silhouette, the coat is suitable for cool summer nights, or layered over thick sweaters in winter.

The Mengzi is featured with ROSEN Planck 2.0 shirt, Eisai trousers and Yeats trousers
