ROSEN Plato Shirt in Herringbone Wool
Once in a while when I do my rounds in the fabric market, I come across beautiful fabrics that are - at first glance - not as wildly textured or distressed as boiled wool or washed linen. This herringbone wool was one of those special ones. The appeal of the fabric does not lie in its appearance, but rather in its tactility. I love how it felt in my hands - the smooth glide across my palm, the way it drapes over my arm. It has a soft napped texture, with subtle herringbone weaves that is only visible upon closer inspection.
Although this type of wool fabric would usually be made into an outerwear or tailored trousers, I wanted to avoid the traditional route. As with typical ROSEN practice, I used the Plato as a canvas for the fabric to work its magic. The resulting suit was so soft and cosy that it has become a staple wear these cooler months.
Due to the moderately thicker fabric, this Plato shirt has been cut narrower than the sandwashed silk version. And as always, this fabric can be made into other pieces. Please do not hesitate to send an email for enquiries or to begin a discussion.
